Contents
Overview
System Feature Permissions (formerly part of Manager Permissions) allow for system administrators to personalize their copy of SmartSimple to make various system objects available to users in different roles.
System Objects include things such as the Delete button on company profiles or the button to create a new transaction.
Company Permission
- Disable Delete - Hide Delete button within an Organization profile for selected roles
- Enable Batch Update - Expose Batch Update button when record selected from Organization list view for selected roles
- Enable Batch Update Owner
- Enable Edit All Companies
- Enable Save Draft - Expose Save Draft button within an Organization profile for selected roles
- Hide New Company Menu Item on Company Profile - Restrict ability to create new company from within a Company profile for selected roles
- Restrict Company Access to Companies with Categories - Restrict ability to view and edit companies with no assigned category for selected roles
- Restrict Company and Contact Access to Assigned Category Permissions - Restrict ability to view and edit companies based on category permissions for selected roles
- Restrict Company and Contact Access to Associated Companies - Restrict ability to only view and edit associated companies for selected roles
- Restrict Company and Contact Access to User Owned Companies - Restrict ability to only view and edit companies where they are the Owner
- Restrict Company and Contact Access to User Owned Companies and Company of User - Restrict ability to only view and edit companies where they are the Owner or it is there parent company
User Permission
- Disable Delete - Hide Delete button within a Contact profile for selected roles
- Enable Batch Update - Expose Batch Update button when record selected from User list view for selected roles
- Enable Outlook Synchronization - ability to synchronize SmartSimple calendar and contacts with those in Outlook
- Enable Save Draft - Expose Save Draft button within a Contact profile for selected roles
Action Permission
- Activity - Disable Delete - Applies to activities created under the company, user, or calendar. Activities for leads and opportunities in Sales Tracking will not be affected.
- Activity - Disable Edit - Applies to activities created under the company, user, or calendar. Activities for leads and opportunities in Sales Tracking will not be affected.
- Calendars - Create - Enables roles to create additional new calendars. All users have full control of their personal calendar regardless of this permission.
- Calendars - Manager - Enables roles to view and add entries to calendars. All users have full control of their personal calendar regardless of this permission.
- Discussion Groups - Access - Enables roles to access Discussion Groups.
- Discussion Groups - Create - Enables roles to create Discussion Groups.
- Notes - View Only - Roles with this restriction are not able to edit Notes.
- People Relationships - Access - Roles with this permission are able to view relationship diagrams and add new relationships between contacts but only using the defined relationship types.
- People Relationships - Edit - Roles with this permission are able to create types or relationships such as colleague, partner spouse, etc.
- Public Filters and Templates - Create - Roles with this permission are able to share search filters, and email templates with all other users. All users can create filters and message templates, but the user needs to be in a role associated with this visibility permission in order to make the filter or template public.
- Reports - Export Data - Roles with this permission are able to export data from reports.
- Reports - Manager - Roles with this permission are able to create reports, graphs based on those reports, and dashboards combining those graphs. Once created, each report and dashboard can be permissioned to other roles to view, but not to modify.
- Skills & Resume - Edit - Roles with this permission can edit skills and resumes.
- Smart Folders - Manager - Roles with this permission can edit Smart Folders.
- Workflows - Attach Workflow to Company - Roles with this permission are able to configure Company-type and User-type workflows to be triggered by a new company or modifications to a company record.
- Workflows - Manager - Roles with this permission are able to create and edit workflows. Users without this permission can participate in workflow-driven processes, but are not able to view, edit or create new workflows.
Arcadia Permission
- Arcadia - Disable Switching between Portals - select the roles that have access to the Portal drop-down, allowing them to switch between roles if they have associations with other companies.

Miscellaneous Feature Permission
- Disable Recent / Action Bar - Disables the Recent and Back tabs for specified roles.
- Enable Attribute Transaction to UTA Level 1 - provides access to Transaction Attribution.
- Enable Authenticated Servers - provides access to Authenticated Servers feature
- Enable Debug Mode
- Enable Delete on Multiple File Fields - provides user’s the ability to delete any files stored against Multiple File Fields. Will bypass the No Deletion settings applied against individual Multiple File custom fields.

- Enable Emulation Mode - View & Edit - provides access to the Emulation Mode functionality, including the ability to make edits when emulating as another user
- Enable Emulation Mode - View Only - provides access to the Emulation Mode functionality, without the ability to make edits when emulating as another user. NOTE - if a person exist in both "Enable Emulation Mode - View Only" and "Enable Emulation Mode - View & Edit" role list, they will only be able to view.
- Enable Emulation of Users in the Following Roles - specify what roles can be emulated
- Enable Global Search - enables the Global Search functionality
- Enable Import Custom Field Language - Enables Translation_Import/Export on Custom_Field_Language_Settings for selected roles.
- Enable Message Queue - provides access to the Message_Queue functionality
- Enable Persistent Login - enables the Persistent login feature
- Enable Personal List View - enables the Personal Views functionality
- Enable Screen Capture - enables the Screen Share functionality
- Enable SmartCard - enables the SmartCard functionality
- Hide UTA Home Button / Link - Disables the UTA Home Button, used to return to the overall UTA from within a record or UTA settings page, for specified roles..
- View Field History - enables the Field History feature
- View ObjectSync Exchange Logs - provides access to ObjectSync details
- View User Access Audit Logs - provides access to User or Contact Security Audit
Legacy Application Permission
This section allows for the configuration of Manager Permissions Associated with On-Demand Applications:
- Accounting Integration - Manager -
- Applicant Tracking - Manager - must be a member of a role with manager permission to applicant tracking if you need to manage Applicant folders, manage the available list of assignment statuses, review other people’s hiring activities, create Skills and create Job Pages.
- Applicant Tracking - View All Jobs -
- Content Management - Manager - This Manager Permission will become visible when the Content Management application is enabled.
- Front Desk - Manager - must be a member of a role with manager permission to configure Front Desk application .
- Job Costing - Disable Edit - Restricts ability to add equipment, materials and other resources to the organization hierarchy, set rates, display and filter these resource types in the Organization chart view.
- Job Costing - Manager - Enables permissions within Job Costing Application. Roles with this permission are able to create and manage projects. This permission also provides the ability to add equipment, materials and other resources to the organization hierarchy, set rates, display and filter these resource types in the Organization chart view.
- Job Tracking - Manager - must be a member of a role with manager permission to configure Job Tracking application.
- Sales Tracking - Disable Delete Opportunities - restricts ability to delete opportunities in the Sales Tracking application.
- Sales Tracking - Disable Edit without Branch Affiliation - restricts ability to edit without current user's Branch being associated with the records.
- Sales Tracking - Disable Settings Tab - must be a member of a role with manager permission to access Sales Tracking settings
- Sales Tracking - Manager - must be a member of a role with manager permission to configure Sales Tracking application.
- Sales Tracking - View Leads only - members of a role with this manager permission are only able to view Sales lead
- Time Tracking - Manager - must be a member of a role with manager permission to configure Time Tracking application.
- Web Forms - Edit Results - Roles with this permission are able to edit the individual results of surveys, and assessments created in the Web Form application
- Web Forms - Manager - Roles with this permission have full manager rights for the Web Form application.
- Web Forms - View Results - Roles with this permission are able to view the individual results of surveys, and assessments created in the Web Form application. Other users can complete forms and the summary results, but cannot see the individual results.
