Q: Why is my field reading in the wrong contact information?
A: Typically, this happens when you have a Store Values – System Variables custom field type. Since the area that your field is reading from may have many contacts, when removing a contact, you need to remove them from the Level 1 (Case / Referral / Claim) entity instead of deleting them from the system completely.
The way to spot that this is happening is that after you have removed the contact and added a new one, the field is still reading in the previous contact's information. This suggests that you previously removed the contact improperly and will need to restore the contact from the deleted bin (this may require contacting your system administrator), so that they can be removed from the file properly.
