Overview

When a workflow step is executed the user is generally presented with a Workflow Window where they can select a value that will be used to determine the next task to be performed.

This feature is vital for workflows that require user interventions, but is not required for workflows that are used to simply send an instant message or email message to one or more users.

When the workflow is used to send a message or an email, the window is displayed for a moment and then automatically closed by the system.

If the User has a pop-up stopper enabled within their browser, the Workflow Window will be suppressed and the Workflow will not trigger. You must ensure that users of workflows that prompt their Workflow Window, have enabled pop-up window display for your instance of SmartSimple.

Suppressing the Workflow Window

If you wish to suppress the display of these window you can change the workflow settings as follows:

1. Use the Configuration menu or Global Systems - Settings, Workflows to access the Workflow List.

2. Click on the required Workflow name.

3. Click the Suppress Workflow Window check box.

4. Click the Save button.

Notes

It is recommended that the Workflow Window is suppressed where your instance of SmartSimple is used by a broad community and you have little or no control of the user's browser settings, and you only require workflows that are used to send messages.

You should NOT enable this feature for Workflows that require user interaction. In these circumstances you must ensure that pop-ups from SmartSimple are enabled in the user's browser.
