A contact is record representing a single person associated with any external [[organization]].
* If you use the [[Enabling User Access|Enable login ]] feature when adding contacts, they will be able to log into the system and you can consider them “users”“[[user]]s”, otherwise you can consider them as simply contacts.
* When you add contacts that you wish to access SmartSimple, you can choose to send each person an e-mail containing their username, password, and the URL (link) to access your instance of SmartSimple.
* As part of the contact setup process, you assign contacts "roles"; these [[roles]] define their access to specific system resources such as the [[interface ]] they see, the applications [[application]]s they can access, the [[fields ]] they can see within each application and the [[reports]] they can run.
