Overview

SmartSimple’s Referral Tracking application provides health care organizations with a streamlined approach for managing the referral process.

Referrals are easily entered and accessible during the scheduling, reporting, and billing processes.

Before getting started with the application it is important to understand the underlying concepts.

  • Individual referrals are created from referral templates such as Accident Benefits or Workers’ Compensation. Your company can create any number of referral templates, based on the types of services that you offer.
  • Each referral template can gather different information and have different referral statuses.
  • A status change within a referral can trigger a workflow such as an alert to a manager.
  • Documents such as Medical files, MS-Word or PDF files can be attached to the referral, and made accessible to anyone needing to see the file.
  • Medical Transcription files can also be attached to the referral in formats such as WAV or MP3 files.
  • Each referral can consist of any number of assessments (sometimes called evaluations or services).
