#REDIRECT Workflows_Overview#Task_Type:_Activate.2FDeactivate_User
This type of Workflow step is used to activate a contact as a user and send the credentials in order to log in. This is particularly useful if you are doing project type work and only wish to activate a user as part of a project.

The recipients selected in the Routing section below will be activated as users. In addition, if an email and/or quick message is selected to be sent in the Message Template, that email and/or quick message will be sent as well to the selected recipient(s).

The User Email Templates set up for new user activations in Global Settings are not sent for users activated by a workflow. Therefore, if you wish the users activated by this Workflow Task to receive email notification including their password, the email message should be configured on this page.
