Latest revision as of 08:16, 11 October 2017

Although Transactions are normally only attached to contact records, they can be enabled within a UTA to allow them to be associated with Level 1 or Level 2 entities.

This feature is generally only used when a person’s activity, such as a certification or a degree, needs to be attributed back to a grant.

To enable the ability to access and add Transactions to the Level 1 or Level 2 records in a UTA requires that:

  • Transaction Standard fields are enabled
  • UTA Transaction Settings have been enabled
  • UTA Type Settings specific to Transactions have been configured as required

Transaction Standard fields

Transactions Standard Field, once enabled, will provide access to a list of Transactions enabled against individual Level 1 and Level 2 records.

The Level 1 Transaction Standard field settings also control visibility of the Transactions tab visible from the overall UTA view.

UTA Transaction settings

The Transaction Settings, found on Connectivity tab within UTA Settings, consists of several sections.

Level 1 Transaction Type Settings

  • When transaction types are added to this section using the Lookupbutton.PNG button, a user will be able to associate transactions of this type to a Level 1 record.
  • Transaction types can then be excluded from specific Level 1 Templates by editing the template > clicking on the View Status button and selecting the transaction type in the "Disabled Transaction Type" section.

Level 1 Transaction Access Roles

  • When roles are added to this section using the Lookupbutton.PNG button, a user will only be able to access transactions associated to a Level 1 record if they are in one of the assigned roles.

Level 2 Transaction Type Settings

  • When transactions are added to this section using the Lookupbutton.PNG button, a user will be able to associate transactions of this type to a Level 2 record.
  • Transaction types can then be excluded from specific Level 2 Types by editing the type and selecting the transaction type in the "Disabled Transaction Types" section.

Level 2 Transaction Access Roles

  • When roles are added to this section using the Lookupbutton.PNG button, a user will only be able to access transactions associated to a Level 2 record if they are in one of the assigned roles.

UTA Type Settings specific to Transactions

You can also restrict the types of transactions available for each {{l1} or {{l2} Type.

  • Within the UTA, click on the Settings tab.
  • On the main Settings page Click into the Level 1 Templates and select the relevant Level 1 template.
  • Click on the View Status tab.
  • In the Disabled Transaction Type section check the boxes next to the Transaction Types you wish to disable for the selected template.
