The Sessions Session Timeout setting is found on the Global Settings page, in the Login & Security Settings section tab.
This setting is used to control how long a user session can be inactive in their browser before they are automatically logged out by the systemredirected to a pop-up Login window.
The session timeout feature will automatically log out any userimage:Session-Expired-001.png if their session remains inactive for the defined number of minutes.
During the time that the pop-up Login window is displayed all current information is maintained within the session. No information will be lost if the user logs back into the system. If the user chooses to close their browser rather than log in again then any unsaved data will be lost.
During the time that the pop-up Login window is displayed the rest of the browser window is darkened to ensure no one can read the information on the screen.
Set the Session Timeout as required.

We recommend that you always set this option. A common session timeout is 120 30 minutes, but can range from 30 10 minutes to 480 minutes.
==NotesPossible reasons for seeing the session expired message== When setting * User has been inactive for more than the Session Timeout be sure to take specified time and the following into consideration:session has timed out.* The Session timer will be reset when User has been disconnected from the user clicks any link within SmartSimple, or saves any recordinternet mid-session.* Typing values into User has started a form but not clicking "Save" or "Save Draft" will NOT keep new session in a different browser while the initial session is still active. The first session will expire* If User has logged in on a user closes their browser without logging out, their session will not normally end until different machine while the initial session timeout period expiresis still active. This behaviour can be changed using The session on the Enable Logout settingfirst machine will expire.
