Assessments or services are the key to referral process.

* You can associate any number of assessments with a single referral, and each assessment can have sub-activities – if your company has configured [[SmartSimple]] to handle that level of detail.
* Each assessment type can be restricted to a specific type of evaluator.
* Assessments can be added at any time to the referral.  So if you don’t know all the details initially, they can be added later.
* You can add assessments to referrals using two methods:
* One at a time by using the '''New Assessment''' tab.
* Multiple assessments at the same time using the '''Quick Assessments''' tab.
